First thoughts from ARKSS Srinivas, CEO of Vistamind and IIM C alumnus - "Attempts will go down. Paper almost exactly like the CAT 2015 Demo on the site. Verbal/RC section distribution the same as in the demo. LR was the toughest and those who tend to attempt LR before DI would have had an headache since a lot of students find LR easier and they attempt it earlier."
IMS India has posted here that the big surprise was complete absence of grammar questions. They also say, "The calculator was reported to be useful in a few questions in DI." There is a word of caution too - "ENSURE THAT YOU CHOOSE THE ‘SAVE AND NEXT’ OTPION AFTER YOU MARK THE ANSWER TO EACH QUESTION. IF YOU JUST MARK THE ANSWER AND THEN CHOOSE THE NEXT QUESTION FROM THE QUESTION PALETTE, YOUR ANSWERS WILL NOT GET SAVED." Not sure how this will help now as the next slot people were already in by the time this was published.
Manish Salian from CPLC MT Educare told us on the phone, "Only RCs and Parajumbles made entire VA/RC which came as a big surprise. DI/LR was tough and an attempt of 13-15 questions could be enough to clear the cutoff. 17-20 in Quant could be enough."
Ravi Handa says here, "60+ attempts with 90%+ accuracy should lead to 98+ %ile." On quant he says, "4-5 questions were sitters. Those could be solved in less than a minute. 8-10 questions were really simple."
