For every 3.5 candidates, 1 candidate gets an IIM Bangalore admit. There are only 22 Commerce students vs 368 engineers in the Class of 2016 at IIM Bangalore. And while it is possible, it tough to bag and convert calls if your percentile is less than 95 since the Mean percentile is 97.91. More such interesting facts for you based on access to answers to a RTI query that we possess. We had published similar information for the Class of 2014 and Class of 2015 last year here.
We observe a small dip from 98.21 as the Mean Percentile to 97.91 for admitted students when comparing admission to Class of 2015 vs admission to Class of 2016. All other stats seem to be similar to the year before except that number of women admitted has gone down to 95 from 106. (IIM Bangalore does not give additional points to women at a shortlisting stage like IIM CLIK)
There is hardly any change in the criteria for shortlisting and admissions from last year and hence we except similar stats for the Class of 2017 which will be admitted this year.
