How does one feel when you are on dream run? It is an inexplicable feeling but let me try ...
Way out west, where it is rainy and hot,
Got an admit in TISS, after so much of toil,
Just to make a difference
Learning and growing is the plan
I quit my job and I left my friends
I headed out to TISS, for a brand new life
Just to get away
Learning and chilling on the land
What a change it's been
From a life without spark till now
How strange it's been
At last, I get the feeling that I'm really alive
Way out west, where it is rainy and hot,
Got an admit in TISS, after so much of toil,
Just to make memories
We are from TISS, and are a clan,
Way out west, where it is rainy and hot,
Got an admit in TISS, after so much of toil,
We are never gonna leave
We are from TISS, and are a clan !!
The Seed:
As soon as the orientation began on 13th June '16, I realized that I have come to a unique school, a school so different on so many dimensions. It felt like a seed has flown, with a gush of wind, from far away into the lap of TISS's lush green campus where it will be nurtured by its culture, people, pedagogy and knowledge.
The first thing I learnt was the quality of Ubuntu. And being an HRM student I believe this one quality is the soil on which my tree of dreams will grow.
I am soaking so much - from up and the down, from signs and the sounds and from all around. I am still overwhelmed by the beauty and the depth of it. And now I know, the seed has landed at the right place.
The Tree:
The journey ahead is going to be a transformational one. The seed in me is already sprouting and growing in the sunshine of TISS campus, and watered by the Mumbai rains.
I have got wonderful batch mates who are diverse in every aspect. It is a garden with flowers of all kinds. Seniors are as helpful as they are fun-loving and it is hard not to get infected by their energy and passion (Some infections are good to have)
The ever innovating Ice-breaker contest such as ‘Selfie with Seniors’ was fun. (BTW our group won it)
With every passing day, the pace of things happening around is accelerating and I am enjoying the adrenaline rush. Be it group tasks, assignments, presentations, lectures and interactions with other students of social sciences, everything around is enriching.
(And of course, I am eagerly waiting for the Freshers’ party). The seed is going to be a tree in the coming two years!
The Fruit:
TISS is a beautiful place to learn and grow, and doing a course in HRM & LR from here feels like a blessing. In this short span, I have learnt that it is a place where if one stays hungry and foolish, the learning one gets is immense. The expectations after coming to TISS have shot to another level.
A tree is known by its fruits. Once I become a tree, a tree of knowledge, I am going to spread its fruits wherever I go. I dream of becoming a committed business leader who would not only work for Profits but also for the People and the Planet and I have no doubts now that I would achieve my dream.
