How I Made An Impact in My Life
I was a pretty good student all my school life, scoring amongst the top 3 ranks in my class all the time. But it was during engineering that I realized that I was not in the same pond anymore and that everyone around me was smarter than me. I freaked out and this led to a downfall in my grades. I could not even land an internship in my 3rd year. It was during this tough time that I realized giving up is not a choice and that I have to work on myself to be competent. I gave my full commitment in the final year and therefore could land up a decent job. But I always felt that I did not perform up to my expectations and that I could do much more. I therefore decided to write the CAT to get admission to a premier b-school. It was a tough task managing CAT studies with my job but I made sure I stay up late after office hours to study. This was my one chance at redemption and I wanted to just give my best shot. My joy knew no bounds when I got a call from SP Jain Institute of Management Research! I had finally did it but I know the task is not yet over. Now I need to work on my profile and look for a career in which my core values align with the values of the company. Therefore, a company like ABG which holds its values in high regards is something which I aspire to enter one day. In this disruptive business environment, it is very easy to forget your core values when the incentive to do something unethical is high, but it is during these testing times that we need to adhere to good values like integrity, commitment, passion, seamlessness and speed. ABG prides on incorporating these basic values as an intrinsic part of its philosophy. These are some of the values which I feel I would love to develop as a part of my core personality to continuously match up to industry standards and achieve my personal as well as professional goals in an ethical way for the greater good. Therefore, I would describe my life as a series of highs and lows. Some of my choices created an impact, some did not! But I have learnt it the hard way, and I want to progress forward with this growth mindset but at the same not forgetting my roots and the importance of hard work and passion.
