The Aditya Birla Group plays a massive role in my life on an everyday basis. Without my realizing, it aids me in every step I take. The daily use products that I utilize reach me through Aditya Birla Retail. The towering high-rise buildings that we see around us today are built on the foundations of Ultratech Cement, India’s largest cement company, the parent company of which is again the Aditya Birla Group. The leading fashion brands, which are today in the reach of millions of Indians, including me, have been facilitated by the same conglomerate. Brands such as Louis Phillipe, Allen Solly and Van Heusen are clothing brands that cater to all my needs, whatever be the occasion. I, like most people of my generation, am heavily dependent on my mobile phone and internet services. Here again the Aditya Birla Group, with its interests in Vodafone Idea, plays a massive role in my life.
This is just a normal day in my life, where I am in direct contact with all the goods and services offered by Aditya Birla Group. There are many more services it provides in the industrial sector, from aluminium to chemicals, which aid me in the normal functioning of my life. It is thus safe to say that the business giant has become an indispensable component of every individual’s everyday life.
How I overcame challenges in my life
I come from a traditional middle-class Indian family, where familial values are of prime importance. I was thus, always surrounded and guided by my parents and elders on matters, small to big. I always knew, in the back of my head that even if things go wrong somehow, I’ll have a place to go back to, help me bounce back with the right advice and guidance.
However, things changed all of a sudden when my parents decided to move to another country, in support of my father’s professional aspirations. I was in the last phase of my high school education, and was faced with a tough choice of either accompanying them and moving, or making the courageous decision to stay back alone in the country and begin to build a professional career of my own. I chose the latter.
The initial few days were extremely challenging. I secured a seat in an engineering college and started my professional education. To add to the pressures of such a rigorous field of study, I had the added responsibilities of managing my family’s bank accounts, taking care of a vehicle they left behind, even a house to take care of. Such things were all very new to me, and were beginning to daunt me.
I failed in several of my attempts to begin with. In fact, I can recall facing failures, beginning from non-payment of bills and dues, on a daily basis. However, it was through these very failures that I learned how to do things the right way. I gradually got the hang of things, and was successful in day-to-day challenges that every adult faces.
I completed my engineering degree, and managed to secure a job. However, it was the added responsibilities of “forced adulthood” that I believe have helped shape the person I have become today. I faced my challenges with determination, and stood strong in the face of failures to come through.
