The best part of the store is that the staff greeted us every time we reached them, that always made us feel like our well-known store. There were many memories, experiences tied to that store, and that makes ABG one of the fascinating ones to experience as a customer, as an employee! Thank you, ABG for impacting lives and making them easier for all!
No one succeeds without efforts. After being appointed as a scrum master, we had to deliver a new feature related to role security for one of the products of ADP that was estimated to be completed in four months and we were already facing issues with multiple resignations and re-organization of members in my team. With half the team being new recruits, I was forced by the management and product owners to reduce the scrum velocity as opposed to what we achieved earlier. Also, there were many unplanned leaves that team members had to take added to the problem.
Being my first feature to deliver, I was reluctant to reduce the velocity. As a solution, I came up with the buddy concept, in which we tagged a new joiner to an experienced member. The motive of this idea was to help the existing members and also help the new joiners learn. In this manner, the new joiners not only learned the product but also had a better understanding of real-time challenges in the product as their learning was hands-on. Though we could not accomplish the entire velocity as before, we were almost there delivering the feature in four and a half months. And I had also received the Results-Driven Quarterly award for my contribution to the team.
My first experience as a scrum master, not only helped me achieve a supervisorial perspective but also taught me to stay confident, and manage work and people through pressure.
I have always been a strict follower of this quote: 'A way to gain a good reputation is to endeavour to be what you desire to appear.' and that has always motivated me to do more!
