My MBA Journey at IFMR-GSB began on the 17th of June 2019. Like every other student, I too was feeling a bit homesick but this feeling of anxiousness ceased to exist after an enthralling experience of Induction programme. Right from the induction programme itself, I was surprised to see such
enormous diversity in the incoming batch of MBA in terms of gender, state of origin, educational background and work experience.
Now after one week on the campus, it feels like I am a part of any other growing cosmopolitan city of India. My day starts with a typical south Indian breakfast and a cup of tea with our cafeteria abuzz with sounds of different regions of India. It is truly an astounding experience to be a witness of so diverse culture within a span of barely 100 feet. My classroom of students coming from various educational background and work field brings in a plethora of opinions and approach to the topics discussed providing a great platform to learn and grow for all. Group activity sessions are fun and filled with out of the box views.
My batch has a near 50% gender diversity; a gold standard to achieve in business education and a proud fact to be known for. This has further led to emboldening the quality of my program. It is rightly said here that as the sun sets, the IFMR GSB spirit
“gets set”. The lanes are bustled with music and dance enthusiasts and fields and courts reverberate cheers of resounding victories. Every nook and corner becomes a place of intellectual and business discussions which are anything but insipid and contains the impression of various regions of India.
Finally, even after an engaging day full of comprehensive learning and fun, the heart craves for more. It's just been a week here but IFMR has already started to shape me as a more mature and dynamic person than I ever was before.
