Like all other people in this world, my life has also been full of ups and downs. But today, when I look at myself as to how failures and the comebacks to them have helped me shaped as a person. Narrating the story of the incident that helped me shape the way I perceive myself and the importance of maintaining a balance among balance in my life. In 2008, when I was studying in 7
th standard, I joined the cricket team of my school after passing the trials. I used to spend whole of my day practicing in school as well as at home for various matches that were to be held in upcoming months. During this time, I failed to concentrate on my studies because I used to be tired after practice sessions. At the end of the session when the cricket matches ended, and the results of the academic were also announced, I found that I did poorly in my academics securing just 72%. I was very disappointed with my performance because I never expected such low grades even in best of my subjects. This incident helped me understand the importance of maintaining a balance between academics and extra-curricular activities. After this realization, I kept a balance between my studies in class 8
th and my cricket practice. At the end of the academic session, I found achieving an aggregate of 93% in academics securing 5
th position in class and was also declared as the vice-captian of the school cricket team for the upcoming tournament. This incident has also helped me in making the best of my college life where I was engaged in numerous activities along with studies.
