How Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
In the fast pacing century, every Corporate Group in the world has been trying to have a global outreach, expanding into various sectors and aiming at reaching out to customers and building sustained relationships with them. It is very crucial for survival of any brand. The Aditya Birla Group with its elegant history of over 162 years, is one right example of a successful group. Being the third largest Indian private sector conglomerate it has a diverse portfolio of companies spreading across Telecommunications, Cement, Fashion, Financial Services, Metals, Mining etc. sectors. My first acquaintance with ABG would be with the Ultratech cement which was our choice for building our own house. The advertisements of Ultratech while watching cricket used to mesmerize me. The first ever telecom service used by me was Idea Cellular which is still with me as a nostalgic memory. The merger with Vodafone to become the largest telecom operator in India is a very strategical move to tackle the mobile operator market to be monopolized. In the current day, the choice of choosing various types of fashion is very easy at Pantaloons. Brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England were available for helping me out to be a part of latest trending fashion. Also after joining my first job, I had invested in Birla Life Insurance, in point of securing my future. Hence I see that ABG Group has been a part of my lifetime activities and it did play a vital role in providing me a comfortable life.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far.
In the current world of cut-throat competition, challenges and failures have become an integral point of an individual’s life. And there are many instances where we have seen that these challenges and failures have put upfront the people’s greatest ingenious strengths and their success stories. During my undergraduate program, I was not clear about my career path and everything field like MBA, Job, MTech looked fancy to me. I tried to do multiple things at the same time leading to failure in all my paths. I was rejected for more than 30 companies. I also scored very bad at my CAT and other competitive examinations. I was dejected took a while off from my regular life and started reflecting upon my decisions. Taking the positives from bad experiences always helps in moving ahead. I had started checking my strengths and weaknesses and I approached my teachers to help me carve out a proper career plan. I have gathered my focus and realized that my goal was to do an MBA degree. I secured a good job to understand the corporate dynamics and then the zeal to pursue my goal has helped me to get into a good B-school. The point I had realized is that you cannot have the same competition for a fish and a dog and decide who is the best. Each one is the best in their own ecosystem. Every individual has an innate aura and we have to find the right ecosystem where we can flourish. This helped me to achieve what I am today.
