How Aditya Birla Group is big in your life? Being a conglomerate, each of our businesses has a different challenge; business landscape is different for each business. It makes it challenging as well as exciting.
                                                                                                                            - Kumar Mangalam Birla There are very few companies and organisations which are well known or command respect as the name Aditya Birla Group. In India, from the villages to the towns, up and coming cities to the bustling metropolises, the name Aditya Birla penetrates deep into the hearts of communities and people alike. The reason for this of course, has to do with the fact that the Aditya Birla Group is omnipresent in our lives right from our childhood. Aditya Birla Group is in the League of Fortune 500 having a $44.3 Billion net value. Anchored by an extraordinary force of over 120,000 employees belonging to 42 nationalities, the Group is built on a strong foundation of stakeholder value creation. With over seven decades of responsible business practices, our businesses have grown into global powerhouses in a wide range of sectors – metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement. Having an immense presence in the overseas market, it is continuing to expand its presence all around the globe and across all kinds of sectors. Today, over 50% of Group revenues flow from overseas operations that span 34 countries in North and South America, Africa and Asia. How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far? "I think it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary."                                                                                                                                                           -Elon Musk Overcoming challenges and striving to achieve our goals isn't always in the form of certificates, awards, special mentions, etc. For me it is something I enjoyed doing, attained satisfaction, felt proud of, earned respect or reinventing my own self. My greatest achievements are often directly related to my greatest challenges. During my school days, I was a quite an introvert, didn't make many friends or participated in many competitions, was confined to myself, public speaking was a challenge for me. But when I joined college, I entered into an altogether new world. I got to meet and interact with new people from diverse fields, different cultures, diverse mindset, during the orientation programme. A new environment coupled with the zeal of doing something different, and getting a push from my friends, I started taking interest in participating and organising programs in collegiate, intercollegiate and university level. To overcome my fear of public speaking and stage fright, I started to delve into the world of Toastmasters. In a couple of years, I managed to develop and broke my misconception of public speaking. Today I'm a Level 5 Toastmaster, A splendid orator, a persuasive leader and a camaraderie. By no means have I nailed all of these approaches. I’m still learning and trying to get to grips with it all. These past few years have been a challenging development journey and I refuse to slow my progression because I’ve experienced the benefits first hand.
