How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
"I think it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary."
-Elon Musk
Overcoming challenges and striving to achieve our goals isn't always in the form of certificates, awards, special mentions, etc. For me it is something I enjoyed doing, attained satisfaction, felt proud of, earned respect or reinventing my own self.
My greatest achievements are often directly related to my greatest challenges.
During my school days, I was a quite an introvert, didn't make many friends or participated in many competitions, was confined to myself, public speaking was a challenge for me.
But when I joined college, I entered into an altogether new world. I got to meet and interact with new people from diverse fields, different cultures, diverse mindset, during the orientation programme. A new environment coupled with the zeal of doing something different, and getting a push from my friends, I started taking interest in participating and organising programs in collegiate, intercollegiate and university level. To overcome my fear of public speaking and stage fright, I started to delve into the world of Toastmasters. In a couple of years, I managed to develop and broke my misconception of public speaking. Today I'm a Level 5 Toastmaster, A splendid orator, a persuasive leader and a camaraderie.
By no means have I nailed all of these approaches. I’m still learning and trying to get to grips with it all. These past few years have been a challenging development journey and I refuse to slow my progression because I’ve experienced the benefits first hand.
