In the era of globalisation where an ordinary consumer is bundled with a plethora of choices, it becomes a herculean task to filter out the wrong choices in order to make the right choice. This is where the concept of brand and brand value pitches in and it is only through brands that consumers zero in on their perfect choices.
Recollecting my recent tryst with Aditya Birla Group, I remember how my frantic search for a jet black blazer (which is part of business formals) in a busy and crowded market area ended when I came across a Peter England showroom. Aditya Birla Group has indeed revolutionized the fashion industry through Pantaloons, which is abreast of the changing requirements of the consumers.
From being a pure manufacturing business 2 decades back , Aditya Birla Group underwent successful transformation to diversified entities. Since then, it has achieved excellence in every entity, be it Hindalco, Ultra-Tech Cement or Vodafone-Idea, and this can be attributed to its guiding philosophy which states that it aspires to become leader in every field it operates in. With several acquisitions to its name especially the Vodafone-Idea merger , it has proved time to time that scale and size are imperative for the organisation to stay relevant in a highly competitive atmosphere.
With the population and culture as diverse as India’s , Aditya Birla Group has successfully managed to transcend boundaries in order to fulfil aspirations of the citizens. It has achieved this by sensing the requirements of the consumers on a regular basis and by providing valuable service to them. Working with such an organisation which has had a significant impact on the lives of millions of citizens is something which certainly enthuses me.
Every person is confronted with difficult challenges during the course of his/her journey and the way the person tackles them determine the level of grit and determination . One such challenge confronted me in the year 2011 when my family shifted from Chennai to Mumbai after my 10
th CBSE Board exams. Mumbai, being very different from Chennai in terms of the population and the culture, it was quite challenging for me to adapt to the busy life. Not only I had to adapt to the city, I also had to build a rapport with my friends who mostly came from elite background in the new school that I became part of. Most of them had an excellent command over English and their performance in tests was significantly better because of which I had begun to develop an inferiority complex towards them. But I took this as a challenge and therefore put in extra efforts to build command over the language in the next 2 years of my schooling. It eventually paid off in 2013 when I was felicitated by my school for securing 95% in 12
th CBSE Board Exams and was elated by the fact that I managed to secure 90% in the subject(English) which had been my Achilles heel. This has helped me grow into a diligent person who values the importance of perseverance in life, be it in academics or sports. Also, I have grown into a confident individual who consistently rises up to the challenges to achieve his goals.
