Part A:
Aditya Birla Group (ABG) has been playing a big role not only in my life but everyone by offering the basic necessities –
Roti, Kapda aur Makaan to every individual in the country. For my
Roti (groceries), I often visit MORE supermarkets for the monthly grocery purchases for my family. While for my
Kapda –
Pantaloons is always one of the option that I consider for shopping for major occasions as one could get everything under a single roof. Moreover it is affordable and of good quality. Brands like
Van Heusen, Louis-Philippe and Peter England are the brands that I have been familiar with since my childhood as it has been my father’s most preferred shirt brands. They have been playing a major role in my life once I started working after graduation and even more important once I had begun pursuing MBA at DMS, IIT Delhi. Though I haven’t been an Idea User- I am fond of its’ tag-line ‘
An Idea can change your life’ as I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. Being a long-time resident of Hyderabad I had used its’ Metro rail, the world’s largest public-private partnership, which has
UltraTech Cement as a major supplier. The metro services has eased the travel for my father significantly. Now, since I have moved to IIT Delhi to pursue MBA, the metro rail in Delhi too have been associated with UltraTech Cement. Investments in long-term projects such as the
metro-rail shows how ABG has been contributing to the growth of our country.
Part B:
I am currently pursuing my MBA at DMS, IIT Delhi. I have a prior work experience of 25 months in IT field. I have come across good number of challenges both in my student life and work life. In this context I would like to share one such prominent challenge at my work place and the other as a student preparing for the coveted CAT examination.
Soon after my engineering I was recruited into an IT firm in a team of three. I had just began to understand the product when my team lead was asked to leave on a short notice. This happened while my direct senior had also resigned and was serving the notice period. Being a novice, I was de-motivated for a couple of days as I was going to left with no mentor and training. But then I realized the only thing I could do is to gain as much knowledge as possible from my senior before he/ she left the firm. So, I started preparing a set of questions every day for which I reached out to my senior for an appropriate solution/ reasoning. This way, without any hiccup I came out of the difficult situation and grew to a position wherein I was given the responsibility for taking sessions for the new joiners. This is the reason why I believe that –
Hardships always get the best out of us.
As I grew in my job I had decided to upgrade my technical skills by doing an MBA. Managing the preparation for CAT exam along with a hectic workload was a challenge – both mentally and practically. I devoted all my weekends (as I was working in the weekdays) for CAT preparation since March 2017. Though, I didn’t do that well in the mocks – I knew that the only way for me to ‘
Bell the CAT’ was to be consistent with my preparation. In addition to my weekend studies, I managed to squeeze in preparation along my travel journeys to and fro office. A month before the preparation – I deactivated my social media accounts (FB, Insta) as I was ending up spending a lot of time online. This helped me to focus on the preparation even better. With a proper schedule in hand along with work, I made time for preparation in the weekdays too.
Today, here I am, writing down this article as a proud student of
IIT Delhi. If I could do it, I am sure anyone can do it.
