Aditya birla group has been “Big in my Life”. From my childhood, ABG has been an integral part of my daily life. I have fond memories of my childhood days, when my parents started to build a house for us. It was a dream project for us. We bought land and started procuring materials for construction as my father didn’t want to give the material contract to the builder. He wanted the best of the best to be utilized for the construction of our dream home. My first encounter with ABG was UltraTech Cements – The Engineers Choice. It has been 14 years and there has not been a single crack. We used the Birla white cement for interior works. ABG has touched our lives on a variety of segments. My grandfather took his Idea SIM when the beginning of Telecom rise in India began. For the past 15 years, he has not changed his service provider, such is the customer satisfaction of ABG. I have been a regular customer of the Pantaloons clothing chain. Aditya Birla Group is not only been just a conglomerate with a variety of products but a group which has been very socially responsible through its Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development. It has varied focus areas such as Healthcare, Education, Sustainable livelihood programs, infrastructure and model village. ABG has also been working closely with a variety of government projects such as Sarva siksha abhiyan, MGNREGA, PM Gram Sadak Yojana, Rural livelihood mission, swachh bharat abhiyan, renewable energy development program, etc.
After high school, I decided to take engineering and become a mechanical engineer. I developed an interest in Motorsport in my 1
st year of Undergrad after witnessing a demonstration of the Formula student car of my university. This motivated me to join the Student Go-kart team of our university. We were a small team of 11 members comprising of students from various departments. Our event was the GKDC event held at LPU-Punjab. Our team members had sound technical knowledge. But since our team was newly established, we were short of the budget required to manufacture the vehicle. My university was willing to support us financially, once we had completed a substantial level of fabrication. But for a small team like us, the initial budget was too high. This was the first of the many challenges I faced. But I didn't get discouraged, I started visiting various surrounding companies for sponsorship. With well-planned production we were able to fabricate the vehicle in time for the event. I was tasked with securing funds for our vehicle. Securing funds for a student project was difficult because our team was new and had virtually no industry connections. My first task was to increase the awareness of the team in the college through events, games, official website, corporate MOUs. Once the team was recognized, we set out to secure sponsorship. With constant efforts we were able to get sponsorship for the vehicle. With hard work, determination and positivity, I was able to overcome these challenges and make an impact on my team.
