PART A: Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
It happens so often that we take things granted in life when they become a part of our daily routine. Yes we pay attention to them, and respect their utility but more often than not fail to appreciate their presence in our lives.
This is applicable to both people and materialistic things in our lives. And standing tall amongst them is the infrastructure we see around us. Be it the Buildings for commercial purposes, for corporate houses, workplaces, warehouses and even our houses which stay an integral part of our lives. ABG through its flagship company the Ultratech Cement Ltd has been contributing to the much needed infrastructure of the country.
After a nasty legal battle which turned L&T Cement into Ultratech Cement, ABG has strived hard, and successfully so, to turn Ultratech Cement into one of the market leaders in the country. With net profit for last financial year being around Rs 2400 Cr, its fast expanding and making more forays in the infrastructural segment of the country. Not only that but today Ultratech Cement is a name to be beckoned with not only in India but as many as
By helping in the process of Nation Building, Ultratech today is making its presence in every citizen’s life. But more than that, Ultratech has long since established itself as a stable and a reliable partner in terms of fulfillment and also safety.
PART B: How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambition in life so far?
When anyone is asked about the ambitions which one has or the challenges which one had to overcome, their entire life flashbacks in a moment. The bits and pieces of hurt, rejection and the accompanying feelings of dejection all comes and goes in a moment. But what also follows is a feeling of pride and self satisfaction which makes you warm from inside and automatically brings a smile to one’s face.
The formation of the Girl's Chess Team in college was the most significant challenge I have faced till date. Chess was not getting much attention from the sports authorities at our college despite the men's chess team was the only team with a trophy at the end of the Inter NIT tournament. The absence of our women's team was conspicuous given that we were among the three NITs without our women counterparts. In the third year I was elected as the Captain of the team and was determined to make amends. I was at the doorstep of the authorities time and again, but the usual line of not enough funds was given. But still I went ahead and invited girls for chess practice every evening. Their regular presence only hardened my resolve to get approval for the Team. After countless rounds of the sports department and the Dean and Director's office the team was finally approved and the girls proved their worth by finishing third in that tourney and second in the tourney next year. I could not have been more proud.
Standing up for what is right is truly a cause worth fighting for is what I learnt from this challenge.
