Part A Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life? 22nd September 2017,11:30 PM.NIBM crossroad Pune. A honk and then WHAM is all I remember. I woke up in a hospital bed the next day.
I was going home on my motorcycle after another late-night at office. At the crossroad a speeding car coming from the left side without any headlights hit me point blank. The impact was so severe that I immediately lost consciousness.
Waking up I found myself on a hospital bed. The pain was unbearable. After talking to the doctors, I found that a police patrol party had found me and brought me in. The brake lever due to the tremendous force had taken a major chunk out of my leg causing a compound fracture. Further there was severe concussion. Immediate surgery was required to fix the fracture.
I was new to the city and my parents were abroad so contacting them was out of question. The bills had already piled high and much more was required for surgery. I had never felt so alone in my life. It was at this moment I remembered my Aditya Birla cashless medical insurance card. I prayed to God that "Kindly let this hospital be part of the cashless network ". With more than 6000 hospitals in India under this network, the odds were good. Fortunately for me the hospital was actually part of the network. All the payments were made on the card until I was able to contact my extended family to get further help.
Since then I have always ensured that each and every member of my family has an updated Aditya Birla insurance with cashless card which they always carry in person.
I would say that would qualify as a major impact Aditya Birla has had on my life . Part B Tell us, in at least 250 words, how you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far When the student became the master-A tale of perseverance During my first year in engineering college I attended a lecture on cyber crime by a guest faculty. It was my first foray into the subject. The possibilities as demonstrated during the lecture simply blew me away. I started looking into opportunities to expand my knowledge and did a certification from Lucidius Tech,Delhi. Next step was to get some practical experience. The only way was to get an internship with the cyber crime department. That was easier said than done. Nobody in the history of that department had ever allowed an intern. The mechanism was simply not present and as a result the officers were reluctant to allow me to continue. I used to sit outside their offices for hours in the hope that they would allow me to at least speak to them. It took me almost a month of waiting outside offices and pleading  that I finally received all the necessary permissions. I was the first intern in the history of Bihar Police department. Once the internship started, I discovered that the technical know-how available to them was simply limited to tracing IP addresses from network providers. I taught them the latest developments and tools that they could use. In return they taught me how to deal with victims and perpetrators, how to investigate a case etc. After the end of my internship I stayed in contact with the department and provided them with technical help from time to time. The following year I got a call from the head of the department whether I would be interested in teaching cyber crime to their newly appointed police officers. He was impressed with the techniques I had taught to the department officers during the internship. I was ecstatic. That my folks is the story of my journey from an intern to a guest lecturer on cyber crime for the police department through sheer grit and perseverance. #ABGLP Woo Me competition #GIM Goa
