Aditya Birla Group knowingly or unknowingly has affected every aspect of our lives. The massive range of products and services offered by the group from cement, fertilizers to clothing products and telecom services has not just made life easier but better for each and every one of us.
I first came across Aditya Birla Group during my childhood when my home was being renovated. Everybody suggested that local cement would be fine and would cost less. But it was about the safety of family and only a trusted brand had to be chosen. UltraTech cement was our first choice. Other products have made a similar impact as well. The day someone earns his first salary is one of the biggest days of his life and naturally, he would want to gift his parents for their major contribution in his achievements. Same was the case with me and I gifted my father a Peter England Suit which brought that proud smile on his face. So, it is not just about the quality and range of products that Aditya Birla Group brings about but the emotions attached with the products also that shows how big a role the Group has played in my life.
Besides, the contribution being made by Aditya Birla Group for social and economic development of villages, providing education, treatment, skill training and mid-day school meals, gives me inner satisfaction that the money spent by me is being used to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Obstacles are Just an Illusion. How I overcame mine.
“
Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” This is a famous quote by one of the best professional basketball players Michael Jordan. He rightly points out that we do come across hurdles, but these should not discourage us or stop us on our journey to achieving our goals.
My journey to get into one of the best B-schools was also filled with such obstacles. While I was preparing for CAT, I was working in rotating shifts every week which made it difficult to adjust sleep and study time. Moreover, since it was a floor job, the schedule was very hectic both physically and mentally. To make things worse, I also had to undergo a minor surgery for which I was on bed rest for a month. It was June already and my preparations were still at nascent stage. But giving up was not an option. So, I stayed optimistic and started from where I had left off. I prepared a time table for every week depending on the work shift, adjusted sleep schedule right after my office so that I could perform equally well in office as well as studies, and followed it religiously.
With patience and perseverance, my hard work started reaping the results and I finally scored 99.91 percentile in CAT exam and performed equally good in interviews and finally secured admission in the Red Building of Dreams, FMS Delhi.
