Part A- Talking about ABG, it touches millions and it touched me as well. All of my ever favourite brands like Allen Solly, Forever 21, Ted Baker are brands that fall under ABG in India. I genuinely feel my wardrobe would be ever so incomplete if any one of these brands was not there. Apart from this, pantaloons has been a life saviour throughout. Whenever I am up for last moment shopping and don't have time to stroll around every store, I just walk into a nearest pantaloons store and pick up all what I want from my one stop shop. Also, I wanted to be a part of the internship that pantaloons offered when I was in undergrad but I unfortunately could not.
I simply wonder what life would have been without ABG, honestly. ABG is all brands to me. And much more than brands, ABG is the story of a man with a vision- Mr. Aditya Vikram Birla. And about the team, ABG is like everywhere. We have all had sandwiches wrapped in a FRESHWRAPP in school. We have all seen and aspired to work for Ralph Lauren like Rachel from Friends. Also, Ted Baker bags are like omnipresent.
Not only clothes, ABG has been fulfilling our needs hierarchy from food to clothes to shelter to entertainment to everything.
You go ABG, you have been an amazing presence in my life until now and keep affecting the lives of millions of people from rural to urban, from kids to adults to the old ones, and mainly from those who want ABG to those who need ABG in their lives.
Part B- When I failed, Then I returned.
Ever since childhood, I had been a very bright student. A good girl and a reason of pride for my parents- especially my dad. I still remember how he used to dress up and all on the day when we had our report cards distribution at school, always sure to see me in the top 3. In academics, I had never seen failure. Never even in a single subject. I as very consistent with this attribute and I also cleared my graduation without a single backlog. A major failure took its way when I could not clear the MBA Entrance examinations in 2017, the first failure of my life (in academics). The worst part was my dad not uttering a single word- not in anger, not even in grief. I was so sure about beginning my MBA in July 2018 but a year was lost and I had to reappear for the exams again in 2018. When I failed, then I returned. The second attempt, I knew exactly what I had to do. Selective study is smart study was what I followed and I identified my weaknesses, worked on them. I sought after my strengths and made them even stronger and today, here I am- a part of SIBM B.
Whenever I look back, I see I have learnt so much from that one failure of mine, it taught me how to fall, get up, dust off and start running again. To every person out there, there is only one thing I would like to say- It is never the end of the world until you die. with failures, you become stronger. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only option you have. You never know how fast you can run until there is a dog running behind you to bite you.
