Ummid, the social service cell of IIM Indore Mumbai Campus organized an exhibition of the products made by AfterTaste. AfterTaste’s mission is to empower women from the low income communities through creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities using art and craft thus leading to long term development of the families and helping them break the cycle of poverty.
IIM Indore Mumbai Campus provided a platform to display their products before the participant of the institute. Enthusiastic students purchased their products and extended their helping hand for these women from lower income communities. The products included bookmarkers, pen stand, lamps, photo frames, cards, notebooks etc. Each product is specially hand crafted by women who could not fulfill their own dreams due to circumstance but now dream for a better life for their families. These women now earn their livelihood in a dignified way through the proceeds of the sales at AfterTaste. The exhibition was held for 7 hours and was open to the PGP participants from IIM Indore Mumbai Campus, students of ICSI and faculties of CCGRT.
Participants, who were already a part of the live project by After Taste , implemented many of their marketing ideas and had a firsthand experience of whether their ideas can raise sales or not. Overall, it was a learning process for the students who were working on the live project with a sense of contribution towards the society.
