It was a cold, rainy March evening, when I had set foot inside the Louis Phillipe showroom at Sarjapur Road
in Bangalore. Just the day before, I had received an email from SCMHRD regarding my selection in their MBA
program. I needed some high-quality formals. The brands that came to my mind were Allen Solly & Louis
Phillipe. Little did I know, that these high-quality brands were actually “desi” in origin. From those formals
that I purchased to the house that I’ve lived in, from the sweaters I wear to the bridge I crossed daily to
work, almost all of them had some connection to ABG in some aspect.
