The event was held on 15th of November, 2014 and like every other year was held in Mumbai. This was their 22nd such ceremony. Ms. Sanchita had travelled to Mumbai and there was one major round which was the presentation of the background of the participants and talking a little about their CV. Later there was a stress interview round. Basically, the participants were adjudged on 4 parameters. It was graded out of 100 points where 25 points were allocated to each parameter. The parameters were confidence, communication skills, content and clarity, personality.
There were participants from several prominent institutions. Quoting the words of Sanchita,” The competition consisted of 22 students from top tier schools such as IIM who had more work experience than me and had already completed their internships as part of their curriculum. Their exposure to the corporate world made me nervous however the nervousness dimished as I progressed through the various rounds of the compeition. “
Sanchita emerged as the second best female student award and was happy to receive a cash prize of Rs 75000 from Yes Bank for this category. She has definitely added a feather in the cap of IFIM Business School which is fast emerging as a destination for transforming students and shaping careers.
Here is a piece of advice that Sanchita wanted to share with studentrs who are aspiring to pursue a career in management. “Students must develop confidence in them and develop the ability to articulate thoughts and questions, to enhance learning; this wasn’t just any event which could be prepared for within 10-15 days, it required continuous practice and learning. Students should exploit all opportunities espcially events like these to go on stage and fight their fears; one must strive to “be bold and confident.”
