Part-A: Aditya Birla Group and its impact in my life. Growing up in a small town of Gaya, Bihar the first memory I can recollect is of construction of my house. My father used to take me to shop of building materials (cement, sand, granite, etc.) where he always used to ask for UltraTech cement. This is one of the first and finest product from Aditya Birla Group which I remember from my childhood. Aditya Birla Group one of the first and largest multinational conglomerate based in Mumbai has expanded its presence across the globe due to its wide range of product offerings. From metals to textile, supermarkets to telecom services, fashion to financial services, whatever you ask for you’ll always find a product offered by ABG. It is active in 14 industry sectors and contributing to 10% of GDP and providing around 8% employment to the youth of India making ABG one of the most prominent leader to advance towards growth of India. Aditya Birla Group has actively contributed to the social and economic development of the communities. In doing so they built a better and sustainable way of life for the weaker sections of society and raised India’s human development index (HDI). For more than 5 decades, the ABG has engaged itself in impactful and welfare activities in India and globally. Our world is facing the issue of climate change and it’s happening faster than we thought. Our government is striving to provide source of renewable energy for development of India. ABG’s CSR team on the other hand has already actively took part in this process by providing 4,50,000 solar lamps for school children. Furthermore, ABG is helping to decrease the child mortality rate by providing midday meals for 63,000 students daily and by running 5,00 medical camps along with 20 hospitals. ABG is also working to make a difference to the lives of the underprivileged and below poverty line people by tying up with district authorities, village panchayats along with National Skills Development Council, SEWA, WHO, NABARD, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, , CII, European Union (EU), Global Compact Network, International Rotary Club, , FICCI, , NACO, CARE, IGNOU, Aide et Action, , BAIF, MYRADA, Art of Living Foundation, Smile Foundation, Maya Foundation, Habitat for Humanity ,Childline India Foundation and local NGOs. Aditya Birla Group has a special place not only in my life but also in every Indian’s life because of their initiatives for helping the marginalized sector.

Part- B: Overcoming challenges to achieve my ambitions in life. Throughout a person life, they are faced with different obstacles and challenges of all varied types. Challenges are a part of our everyday life. Challenges makes us stronger and without them life becomes boring and too easy. My life is no different. Coming from a middle-class family from studying in government school to getting a call from IIM Bodh Gaya my life was full of obstacles, challenges and fears. My life has been full of ups and downs related towards my academic goals. I used to be an average student in school but my life took a turn when I moved to Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh for continuing my further studies. I was in class 9 and everyone around me used to talk only about cracking IIT-JEE and going into top IITs. Being an average student, I didn’t have any slightest idea about IIT and what is it all about. This was my first exposure to real life competition that’s going in the world. I had no goals, no career aspirations and I never even thought about it. D-day was here and my parent’s worst nightmare came true, I couldn’t clear IIT-JEE exam. It left my parents heart shattered. This was the day I clearly defined my goal of making “my parents proud”. During graduation, I gave CAT exam but couldn’t qualify and this failure turned into depression for me. Later, I started working with a firm but I always had that goal in my mind. Few months later, I left my job and was preparing for four competitive exams and one of them was CAT. During my preparation, I paid complete attention, focus, determination, resilience, self-discipline, commitment and hard work is as they say is always the key for success. Result of the first exam came, then the second and then the third. I couldn’t make it in all three exams but CAT results came on Jan 5, 2019 and half a month later I started getting calls from IIMs. I went for interview round but I didn’t tell my parents about my interview call. Nearly 2 months later I started getting admission calls from one of the top management institutes of India, the IIMs. Later that day I forwarded “call letter” mail to my father and within few minutes I got a call back from my parents. I still remember the sense of joy and pride on their face. It was really a great journey so far. It took all my will power and I never gave up and tried to stay positive. I never lost hope and there was an inner drive of compassion, confidence, positivity, motivation and strict time management that helped me visualize my goal clearly. Finally, I can say I’m top 0.01% of the students that made into IIM.
