Importance of Aditya Birla Group in my life. IIM RAIPUR
In this era of globalisation where the world is becoming shorter and shorter day by day. Aditya Birla Group has worked like a catalyst in doing so. Being the 3rd largest group in India no one is left aloof by this group in there day to day life. ABG holds special place in my life, as right from the basic need that is education it has impacted my life. My elder brother studied from BITS, Pilani and is now working in a reputed firm and is the major contributor towards family income. By looking at my brother even i was inspired to become an engineer and worked really hard for it. But unfortunately,I was not able to make it through BITSAT, but was able to crack AIEEE and went on to VNIT, Nagpur to pursue my Civil Engineering. During my engineering days it was Idea another ABG product which helped me connect with my loved ones. It is very important from someone to stay connected and so was for me and Idea has always been a partner through this journey. In the apparels also ABG has been a vital player in keeping my confidence up during my professional career and is still helping me through its various brands ranging from Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, and Peter England. I wish ABG to continue their nation building mission and wish to be part of the organisation in future to properly channelize my skillset for the same noble cause.
challenge 1:
I had moved to Kota after high school to prepare for college entrance examinations. I had taken this decision primarily because my close friend was also moving there with me for the preparation. However, after a month my friend decided to move back to our hometown.
Now I had two choices. Either to move back with him, or stay and persevere alone. It was an emotionally challenging day for me. I chose to stay and stick to my choice. I decided that from now on, I would steer my life according to my choices, and not joining the bandwagon.
challenge 2:
During one of my projects, I was assigned to a new work site along with few other colleagues. Couple of weeks into the project, I noticed minimal interaction between the team members and falling motivation levels.
So, I decided to organize a Games competition, wherein my colleagues can form teams and play with each other. One of my team members also liked my idea and agreed to help. We organized Table Tennis, Carrom, and Cricket matches over the weekend. Many of our colleagues participated, and thereafter we organized many other events such as quiz, and quality and safety week.
challenge 3:
During a project with a very aggressive timeline, we needed to finish the concreting work of a site. However, the site was premature and not set well enough to start with the concreting. I highlighted the issue to my manager, and asked him to push the deadline by a day. Initially, he was reluctant to comply and wanted to stick to the plan. I highlighted the possible repercussions and suggested an extra shift over the weekend to compensate for the work loss. After a lot of discussion, he finally agreed to push the deadline and follow the protocol.
