Why is Aditya Birla Group BIG in my life?
There are few brands which you blindly trust. Aditya Birla Group is one of the very few groups with which nostalgia and a feeling a connection is always there. The brand which was established almost a century before India’s independence has played a big role in the development of the country, even after independence. Grasim Industries, which was incorporated few days after independence is now a global leader in viscose staple fibre. Talking about other brands, it’s UltraTech is among the world’s top 10 cement manufacturing industries, the group itself is the Indian largest MNC and a leading player in different industries.
For me, there are two things in particular why I feel connected to this brand. The first would be its social initiatives. I have worked in the social sector and have always felt satisfactory when working for the social cause. Aditya Birla Group is one such group which believes in developing the society along with the company. For example: the company runs around 18 charitable hospitals which serves more than 1 million villagers in the country.
The second aspect where I love Aditya Birla Group is its clothing products. I am a shopoholic person and its brands; be it Allen Solly, Van Heusen, People or stores like Pantaloons, they have always been my favourite. Even while purchasing formals for MBA (well, that is quite a task), Alley Solly and Van Heusen Women were the first ones I approached.
This is just my story, how I personally connect to the Aditya Birla Group. The group has transformed lives of many people and I am sure it will continue to do so in future as well.
How I overcame challenges
I firmly believe that challenges are a part and parcel of life. They are the one which makes one mentally strong and gives an opportunity to explore oneself and move ahead in life. I believe that I am emotionally tough and handle things with good pragmatism. A few years back when I was in my college, some incidents changed my perspective towards dealing with tough situations. In my final year, of college, being a sincere student, I was expected to clear through all the companies. However, when the top companies came; they wanted to have gender diversity and somehow, I didn’t clear the two interviews. Facing the rejections first time in my life, my confidence shook a bit. At the same time, an unfortunate incident happened; growing up in a joint family, my grandfather was really close to me, and he passed away. I was really disturbed for the first few days and wasn’t able to concentrate on anything. Losing the most important person in life was something I didn’t prepare myself for. However, I learned that no matter how hard things were then, it was my duty to gather the courage to deal with it. Therefore, I decided to cope with it and started preparing for my academics, placements, and CAT and succeeded in all of them. After the incident, I come to the belief that whenever adversity comes, one should not lament over it. One should think of the future and start working for it. This not only helps a person to remain positive and calm but also helps them to be stronger.
