For most of the MBA students, life becomes like profit and loss statement, it can either give you a good experience or bad one but the funny thing about experiences is that you can never know what they have taught you unless you implement them in similar scenario.
My experience is kind of a funny one. So here it goes:
So one day we had lectures till 9.30 pm which is a regular thing being JBIMS student but that day was a hectic one. So after the lecture, we decided to hit a bar and have a few drinks. We did that, it was 11.30 pm and we decided to go on to Marine Drive to relax for some time. Well everything was good until now but after sitting at marine drive for more than an hour I realized that I have lost my college bag, I was not able to find it anywhere. At almost 12.30pm and being a bit drunk I was not in the state of mind to find the bag so I directly went home and slept.
The next day I woke up and realized what a terrible mistake that I have done, and immediately started looking for my bag having no clue at all where it might be. So I went to all the places where I might have left the bag. I started with the bar, check the CCTV footage where I found out that bag was with me after leaving the bar. The next option was the taxi we took from the bar to marine drive, so went to the taxi union office in Mumbai central, Mumbai check their records whether any driver has deposited a bag in lost and found but nothing was there. I went to marine drive as well to check but no luck. I check with railway police because a friend told me that their network and services are fast but they also could not help because I did not know where I lost my bag and they help only if the bag is lost in the local train.
I was almost sure that I am not going to find the bag. Since the bag had some important stuff like mobile phone, calculator, notes, college ID, I decided to file a complaint in the nearest police station just in case if something bad happens in future using my stuff I will have a proof. I went to Marine Drive Police station thinking about what a stupid mistake I have committed, cursing myself the whole route but God had planned something for me and here comes the best part of the story. My exact conversation with the policeman at the Marine Drive Police Station:
Me: Hello Sir, I lost my bag yesterday around 11.30 pm at marine drive and want to file a complaint.
Policeman: What is your name?
Me: Abhijeet Rathod
Policeman: (Smiled and called his coworker), Shinde CEO aala bagha (Mr Shinde the CEO has come because JBIMS is called the CEO factory)
(I was surprised that he knew JBIMS being CEO factory)
The other (Shinde) Policeman: “Bajaj chya porakadun hi gosht apekshit nahi barr ka?” (This is not expected from a Bajaj student) and we have already delivered your bag to Bajaj institute after seeing your ID Inside your bag
The whole story was like miracle to me I mean I know Mumbai Police is quite helpful but I was not expecting that they would find my bag at first place and after finding it not only keep it but also deliver it to JBIMS. You cannot expect a policeman to know this much about an MBA institute but that’s the power of the Red Brick Building named
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management studies. That day I realized that a lot of people knows about the glory of this institute and that is the USP of JBIMS. The uniqueness about the institute lies in its history of more than 40 years and alumni base that it has created over these years. The brand name “JBIMS” is enough for people to recognize it as a top B-school in India.
This unique thing about the institute can also be treated as the motivation for me to work in future. What I am trying to say is that every MBA graduate would like to work for a company which has a reputation in market and a brand name which signifies its existence and Aditya Birla Group is no exception to it. The $44.3 billion corporation, The Aditya Birla Group will be a dream for any MBA graduate to work for, given a choice I would like work for
Idea Cellular Limited and the reason is that the telecommunication sector in India is rapidly evolving, the competitors are using different strategies to gain market share and thus I would like to work in such a challenging environment where I will get to learn and develop as well.
