Finally! Here I am, at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade!
I remember the track that was playing in my headphones as I was entering the campus. It was ‘this is gonna be the best day of my life...’ by American Authors. I was feeling fulfilled but nervous at the same time when I stepped into the gates of the college. Pursuing MBA from this premier B school, a dream that I had been seeing for long time, was getting accomplished. The heritage red buildings, lush green lawns, and a couple of natural ponds(which is speciality of Kolkata) left me mesmerized. I was already awestruck by this beautiful city of Kolkata. On my way to college campus, I saw the morning life of Kolkata, the old heritage buildings, Howrah bridge, the Eden Gardens and most importantly the people who prefer being simple and contained!
I entered the campus and a security guard guided me to the admissions office. After completing all the formalities, I was assigned a room. The guard picked up my luggage and took me to my room in C block. I was really wishing that I get the lake facing room and I actually got one! I checked out my new home where I would be living for the next 2 years. The room was awesome and the view was perfect! I immediately went to see who my neighbours are and found two interesting fellas whom I instantly became friends with. Three of us went out to discover the campus and interact with our batchmates. It was easy to distinguish our batchmates from seniors because of the body language. Everyone seemed to be confused but also very excited to give their best. The next day, post induction program, we started with the academics (very well-known to be rigorous) and other sessions.
IIFT’s USP is that every subject is taught with international perspective, which is very essential in today’s era. The faculty at IIFT is very knowledgeable and comes with industrial experience as well. It gives utmost importance to the peer learning pedagogy wherein you get to learn a lot from the batchmates. IIFT also offers port visits and student exchange program and volunteering internships which give one a completely different kind of exposure. IIFT has got very well connected and rich alumni network. These factors made me believe that I have made the best choice for my MBA journey and I am definitely going to cherish these two years for the whole life.

ABG Company:
If given a chance I would really love to work for Idea Cellular. Considering the changing dynamics of the telecom industry and the upcoming merger with Vodafone, it would be great to work in such a competitive marketplace and perform to the fullest of my potential. I have a keen interest in the field of marketing and would like to work in the same domain at Idea. The culture at all the Aditya Birla companies is well known to be very employee friendly, the work life balance and the ample of opportunities for growth make Idea one of the best companies to work for.
