"This year, too, our graduating batch found challenging careers openings of their choice from the campus. I am very appreciative of the industry for their continued trust in us,’ says Prof. L S Murty, Director, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur.
The institute achieved 100 per cent final placements for its third batch of PGP students. After initial hiccups in the first batch, the institute reached the 100% mark for the 2
nd time in a row.
The highest domestic annual package offered this year stands at Rs. 20 lakh, whereas, for the previous batch it stood at Rs. 19 lakh.
The average salary increased to Rs. 12.35 from Rs. 12.05 of the last year. Further, the average package offered for the top 10% of the batch and the first quartile of the batch stands at Rs. 17.48 lakh and Rs. 15.45 lakh, respectively
. The median package for the batch is Rs. 12 lakh.
For the graduating batch of 2017-19, the placement season saw participation from sectors such as FMCD (fast moving consumer durables), Analytics, IT, Consulting, Logistics, E-Commerce and others. The final placement process witnessed 40+ recruiters, including many first time participants.
Prominent recruiters included Deloitte Consulting, ZS Associates, MuSigma, Berger Paints, V-Guard, Schindler, FSS Global, Sutherland Global, Group M, Decimal Point Analytics, Value Labs, JK Technosoft and Aspect Ratio Data. Start-ups also showed a keen interest in recruiting potential future business leaders from the IIM Nagpur talent pool.
Start-ups such as Moglix, Build Supply, Fortigo and Jigserv Digital made multiple offers on the campus. Analytics, E-commerce, FMCD, IT and Manufacturing sectors recruited more than 70 per cent of the batch.
This year IIM Nagpur also witnessed enthusiastic participation from the senior executives of companies such as Bank of New York Mellon, Flipkart, WNS Global, Barclays Bank, NTT Global, Lowe Lintas, Goldman Sachs, Absolute Data, Grofers, Bank of America, Ford Motors, Olam International. They visited the campus for open seminars and guest lectures and went on to interact with the PGP students after that.
Mr Souvik Roy, In-charge, Career Development Services (CDS), IIM Nagpur said, “We are in the process of automating the whole placement process which would result in managing the process efficaciously and thereby presenting our talent pool to our partners well in advance. We are sure of attaining greater strides in the coming years not only in the Indian market but International too”.
