The Social, Entrepreneurship and Consulting Cell (SECC) of SIBM Pune has launched its flagship event Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 on August 5, 2016. It will feature around 10 events including competitions like a 24-hour case study challenge, virtual one-of-its-kind IPL auction, guest speaker sessions and much more.
Aarush, the flagship event of Entrepreneurship Summit 2016, is an innovative event which involves the participants experiencing the spirit of entrepreneurship within 24 hours. Apart from the tough competition amongst the large number of participants, one can also interact closely with known names of the field and thus learn from the immense knowledge and experience they carry.
Symbihaat—Symbi’s own flea market—is another unique event which involves the students of Symbiosis International University setting up their own business ventures for 3 days. A very popular event amongst the SIU students as they get to apply unique business concepts and try and make profits, this event sees a high number of both participants and visitors.
For the ones who love cricket, SECC brings in Runbhoomi—a one-of-a-kind event where the participants have to virtually buy an IPL team and bid for players. A true fire-trial of business acumen coupled with how well one can think on his feet, this is a test of pure strategy and quick thinking.
For the ones who are confident of their pitching skills, “Jugaad” is something they can test their ability. A unique competition which seeks to find whose sales-pitch is the most distinctive and engaging, this event goes a long way in getting one test his classroom knowledge in the field and do their bit towards the society.
For those inclined towards case studies, the Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 has its share of events. “Prayaas” is a live social case study challenge in association with India@75 which focuses more on socio-economic issues. The thing that makes this a popular competition is the fact that the cases presented are actual, real-life problems. For the students inclined towards business, there is “Conquest” sponsored by startup Enseva which presents live, actual business problems for the students to solve. The Marketing Society of SIBM Pune, Mark-O-Polo, also organises a marketing case study competition “Mind Spark” as a part of the Summit.
The Summit also organises guest lectures and interactions as part of “Chai with Entrepreneur” and “Pride and Passion”. “Chai with Entrepreneur” is an informal meet-up with the stalwarts of the start-up industry over a cup of tea. This year, the guest is Gaurav Mishra, CEO LetsIntern. “Pride and Passion” allows the students interact with industry giants with respect to achievement of goals, managing work and life, lifting the career graph, life struggles and many other such subjects. This year would play host to Rahul Narvekar, CEO Indian Roots, an NDTV ethnic retail venture; Harsh Lahoti, Co-founder, Ah! Ventures and Ashwini Sanghi, Author, Krishna Key and Chanakya’s Chant.
For the lovers of quizzing, The Quizzing and Debating Society of SIBM Pune (QUOD) will be organising “InQuizitive”. And for the photographers out there, “Buzz!” is the competition for them. An online photography competition which revolve around the theme “Evolve”, prizes would be given based on number of likes/retweets, relevance to the topic and creativity.
Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 is a plethora of competitions, and it would be very accurate to say that every B-school student worth his economics will come and participate.
