Courage, Commitment and Compassion, when come together I believe can change the world. To have the courage to take on challenges, to soar beyond the ordinary; to have the commitment it takes to reach the finish line and progress with compassion is what I strive for every day.
Graduating in IT Engineering from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College laid the necessary groundwork for me to kick start my career. It also provided me with a platform for overall development with extracurricular activities such as heading Publicity for the Management Society, actively participating in fashion shows and organizing various events. I went on to working with Accenture for 2 years as a Software Engineer. Serving French clients motivated me to learn the language to be able to value add in a competitive environment. However, curious by nature and struck by technical monotony, I made an effort to understand the different aspects of such a corporate giant. It was at this time that I felt an instant inclination towards a management-driven role and began to trust that it will bring out my potentials to the fullest.
Coming from a technical school of thought, I understand the importance of thoroughly educating yourself and I believe a pioneering institute like NMIMS has been the right platform for me to optimize my knowledge. The structuring of the course, the faculty and alumni have been of great value and a privilege to learn from. NMIMS has helped me hone my personal skills as well. Group projects and assignments have taught me how to work well in a team. I’ve organized TEDxNMIMSBangalore 2019 as a part of the PR committee which has taught me a lot of people management skills and given a very good corporate exposure.
The summer internship process began with sitting through which then seemed like endless group discussions and personal interviews. I was very excited when Big Basket came to our college and my name was on their final list.
I vividly remember the first day of my internship. They had a structured program designed for us. The first week, we were taken through the company processes, a visit to their warehouse and an overview of what our remaining 7 weeks would look like. They also made us meet the founders and our mentor.
For the next week, we underwent a lot of training to get a deeper understanding of our domain and specifically our work. They were kind enough to solve all our queries and did their best to give us as much practical exposure as possible.
The aim of the project was to understand the existing media management of Big Basket B2B and enhance it if possible. My learning was immense as I got to work on multiple tools and work with multiple teams to do my research, testing and make my final proposal.
My mentor was very supportive all throughout. He was the national buying head in the B2B domain. His feedback will help me understand my strengths and better my weaknesses.
