How Aditya Birla Group has been an Influence in my life.
Moving to IIM Raipur was a big decision for me as a fresher. Everything from staying alone to doing laundry was new for me. This institute is well known for its discipline especially attire wise and one mistake on my part was not interacting with any alumnus or current students before arriving here. Hence I wasn’t allowed to wear the existing t-shirts to the So, their concept of wearing formals everyday to classes was a bit weird to me but two days of living here taught me that the institute grooms us to look good every minute you’re studying here as looking good can have a direct impact on your confidence. I needed a pair of formal shirts and pants that not only were formal but were a bit classy because who wouldn’t want to stand out in their batch? Here the range of Allen Solly formals was the best and most classy for a student with a budget constraint. Also, the rules regarding the business formals like their colour, texture, shine etc. are very strict. The only store that could satisfy all these conditions for me in Raipur was “Grasim”. The blazer from Grasim was not only comfortable but also quite reasonably priced. Thus, these brands still add class to my attire making me feel more confident about myself and will always have huge place in my wardrobe.

How I Overcame challenges to achieve what I want in life so far.
I belong to a South Indian family and hence was born with a sweet tooth. Being the only child to my parents I was pampered a lot and was given sweets every time I cried just to calm me down. Needless to say, I grew up to be chubby and overtime body conscious. I used to spend hours in front of the mirror just looking at myself and trying to imagine what I would look like if I were thin. Unfortunately, I fractured my right foot in the third year of my college and drastically put on weight in the two months my leg was in a cast. So, when I went back to college in my final year, I was the butt of jokes as I was the new fat guy in the class. I took peoples comments so personally that I used to starve myself daily. Then I realised that doing the wrong things may actually damage my body even more. So, I joined the gym and tried to maintain a diet with my hectic college schedule. Losing weight looked nearly impossible but I wanted to do it at any cost. On the days that I was demotivated I used to watch a video of Aamir khan in which he said “Don’t think about the destination. Focus on your journey. Get through it one day at a time.” I managed to lose some weight when bad luck struck again. I managed to fracture my leg again, just this time, the other one. Now I lost the hope of ever losing weight and was stressed out about just getting fat again. Then I started watching fitness videos on YouTube in that time and started gathering knowledge about fitness and was so addicted to it that I joined the gym the very next day after my leg was removed from the cast.i wore the crepe bandage to the gym. Adjusting to life again and getting back to routine activities took some time but it taught me to go after what I want desperately. I eventually lost over 30kgs. This addiction still continues and even today at IIM Raipur, whatever time it may be, I find myself an hour to workout, maintain my diet and proudly call myself a FITNESS FREAK !!
