Aditya Birla Group, the name says it all. It is the third-largest Indian private sector conglomerate with its services in various sectors like banking, cement, fashions, metals and many more. The brand definitely has a journey like no other and has consistently offered innovative products and services from its inception. It’s presence is big not only in my life but in the lives of all Indians in general. From installing 1000 bio-gas plants to vaccinating over 90 million people, Aditya Birla Group has done it all. My life also somewhat revolves around Aditya Birla Group and its products. My family has been using Vodafone mobile services for a very long time and now with its merger with Idea, it has become mobile service provider in India. Vodafone-Idea played an important role in my life by connecting me with my family while I was working far from them in a distant city. From starting my day by watching the phone whose screen is made up of Hindalco Aluminium from Hindalco Limited to driving cars made of carbon nanoparticles from Birla Carbon, to going to college which is made of UltraTech cement as a chief component, Aditya Birla Group sums up my life and how. One of the most cherished memories of my childhood is going to shop at Pantaloons with my mom for Durga Puja which is the most famous festival in Kolkata. I used to wait for the day to arrive when my mother would take me to Pantaloons and let me shop as much as I want and whatever I want. I have travelled to various parts of the country and the only thing I found constant in all the cities was Pantaloons, which is again owned by the Aditya Birla Group. Hence, I would like to thank Aditya Birla Group for improving our lives and for giving us so many golden moments of joy.
How I have overcome challenges to achieve my goals
It was 20
th August 2018 when I finally quit my job in order to pursue my dream of studying management from a top b-school. Having worked in the IT sector for two and a half years, I was completely out of touch with academics and hadn’t even touched a pen for the past couple of years. Moreover, I felt overwhelmed by the fact that CAT 2018 was just three months away. Although friends and relatives suggested otherwise, but I was quite determined to bell the cat in that year itself as I had no intentions of dropping a year just for preparations. Hence I started my journey by chalking down a three month plan of preparation in detail. Having done this, the next step was to follow the plan religiously, but of course that was much easier said than done. After a few days of preparations and very low scores in mock tests, I found myself questioning my earlier decision of quitting my job, which seemed to be foolhardy at that moment. At times the mock scores were so low that I wanted to give up and look for other career options instead. But somehow I managed to keep myself motivated and worked vigorously in order to achieve my dream. The next few months were nothing short of a roller-coaster ride as I had to face new and harrowing challenges at every turn of my preparations. Finally, the D-day arrived and I was able to come out with flying colours in CAT 2018 and even performed beyond my own expectations. Fast forward to July 2019, I am a proud student of PGDIM-26 batch at NITIE, which is one of the topmost b-schools in the country.
