How effective are Arun Sharma books for CAT preparation?
How effective are Arun Sharma books for CAT preparation? Are they enough to gain concepts or one has to solve CAT institutes packages?
I think Arun Sharma’s LOD 2 and 3 are worth doing.
LOD 1 is too easy in most cases. Also, the question bank is slightly outdated.
For example, Averages and Mixtures have only LOD 1 questions which are too easy.
The same goes for his Logical Reasoning book.
I recommend TIME books for preparation. Tough questions, but good set of questions.
Yes, Arun Sharma books are great for concepts building and then practising tougher questions . In the quant book, the LOD-1 questions will help you clarify your basic understanding of a concept and then you may switch to LOD-2 & 3 problem sets of the chapters. Once you get used to the problems there, the CAT questions won’t seem so tough while giving mocks.
Another book of Arun Sharma that I have used is for the Data Interpretation. It will be a good practice since there are many questions plus CAT’s past year papers.
The Logical Reasoning & Reading Comprehension books are just fine. You may go through their pdf versions.
I found Arun Sharma’s quant book really helpful in improving my scores in the mocks
