the number of hours spent daily towards CAT preparation would defer from person to person as it is completely subjective. Ideally, you should be giving at least 3 hours each day to get a decent score.

Obvious answer is: This is subjective. But let me drill deeper and try to generalise it.
If you are working person who hasn't started preparing yet, then this is how your prep should look: Weekdays 2-2.5 hours per day is almost mandatory & on weekend, you should devote 6-7 hours every day. If you are able to give 300-400 hours of focused prep, i believe that would totally do. Try to save your time, don't spend time on social media a lot. I would say limit usage of non value-adding stuff. Motivation is very much necessary; Instead of turning to digital quotes, work hard and get measure your distance to target through it.

I follow:
3 hours on weekdays (8:30 PM - 11:30 PM)
Out of this, I'd say only 2.5 hours are actually productive due to fatigue from work.

6-7 hours on weekdays
I'd say 5-6 hours are usually productive for me in this region.
My current rate of preparation is going well by following this time structure, so I suppose it may work out for others as well.
