The Four Crazy Horsemen | IIM Rohtak
There is a famous saying “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, a clichéd philosophy isn’t it! However, is the implementation of the same a routine exercise as well?
In IIMs, it is a practice to thoroughly read the cases and apply the learnings of the classes before the discussion begins, and between readings, live projects and the entire CV building process, the “no play” phrase starts reducing and gradually tends to 0… (yeah, I am an engineer!, pun intended). But then enters a group of people in IIMs who excel in class participation, work ethic and take the above saying as a warning against obliviation of individuality.
This group of people is an amalgamation of bright minds from across the country, professions and academic background. Let me list these “YOLO” guys:
Sachin Sharma- The Visionary
Born and raised in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, he graduated from NIT Jamshedpur and worked as an IT professional in TCS for 3 years. Then, his hard work got him selected in IIM Rohtak, and our journey as a group began. With future career prospects as the motivation for his actions, he started working hard to gain relevant industry exposure through live projects, knowing the value of the same in advance. He is a guy with precision and perfection as focus points and hence weak at multi-tasking. An aspirant of marketing and analytics, he is into learning various tools and models to enhance his learnings of the domain. He is a die-hard fan of TV series and movies and a hard TT opponent.
Ankit Gupta- The Leader
Born and raised in Jabalpur, Uttar Pradesh, he graduated from JEC Jabalpur and worked as an IT professional in IBM for 1 year. He later met with a serious accident which took an arduous test of his willpower and finally rose anew from the experience and landed himself in IIM Rohtak, through sheer perseverance and talent. With money, fame and contribution to the society as his motivation, he started building his skill set in leadership, communication and marketing. He is a people’s person and attempts to listen more and speak less (a rare quality), however, sometimes acts a little commanding. He is an aspirant of marketing and HR who is continuously understanding the most important resource of all, i.e., humans, from all aspects. He is the founder of Spirituality and Wellness club and a beast in Badminton (National Player).
Manoranjan Nayak – The Sage
Born and raised in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, he completed his B. Com from BJB, Khurda and M. Com from Ravenshaw and is a fresher. An avid reader and an expert in written communication, he has the ability to easily connect the dots. With relevant contribution as his motivation and pragmatism as core value, he is on a journey to gain the required industrial exposure through various live projects and certifications in Marketing and strive towards adding more knowledge to his existing pool. As an aspirant of marketing and analytics, he focuses on deriving the hidden insights by implementing tools and techniques learned during the time period in IIM Rohtak. He is a voracious reader and a tough debating competition.
Harcharan Singh (me)- The Explorer
Born and raised in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, I graduated from Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology and worked as a Business Development Executive in IT sales for Httpcart Technologies Pvt. Ltd. I am a keen learner from surroundings and have adaptation as an asset. Because of the work experience, I appreciate the need for excellent communication skills as well as relevant industrial exposure. I also figured out that the skill of efficiently understanding customers is the key to unlock profit chests. As an aspirant of marketing and analytics, I diligently look to optimize the abovementioned key to unlock plethora of profit chests through relevant data insights and marketing intuition. I am a hardcore sports player and musician by heart.

I will love to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited as this company can strongly personify my career just like the huge numbers of customer it serves and renders meaning to. ABFRL boasts India’s largest fashion network and has around 8000 points of sale in more than 700 cities and town with 2000 exclusive ABFRL brand outlets. It is India’s Topmost Lifestyle entity. ABFRL has huge brands like Louis Phillipe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England etc under its umbrella. Having worked as a Strategic Planner for brands like Fastrack, Scotch Brite etc during internship with Lowe Lintas, I look forward to work with these humongous brands and add value to them by applying the knowledge obtained from one of the top brand management agencies in India. As an explorer, I believe that the fashion industry has a whole lot of profit chests which are still untapped and I can optimize my key to unlock some of them.
