Thanks to ABG for bringing in the best and giving us an accessible, affordable and quality rich products.
ABG, through its leaders, has helped me create a positive impact on my life. Mr.
Kumar Mangalam Birla’s words have helped me in the truest sense - “When you have opportunities in your own backyard, it’s not a good idea to look out for other frontiers”.
This quote has been the guiding light for me for four years of my under graduation. My father being a civil engineer, I have seen him design a building from scratch to bringing it to life which made me ambitious to pursue civil engineering. Many of my friends didn’t know which stream to pick after their tenth grade but I knew that I wanted to be a civil engineer for sure.
I took up Math, Physics, Chemistry stream in my higher secondary keeping in mind my goal of becoming a civil engineer. I studied in a CBSE school till my tenth grade. As there weren’t any CBSE schools for 11th and 12th standards in my town, I had to join a State Board college. There was an abrupt change in the study pattern. Changing boards was the first challenge that I faced. When I didn’t even know the basics of a few concepts, my friends used to solve advanced problems on them. But this didn’t deter my confidence. I took the help of my sister and teachers, made sure I got the basics of every concept right and soon started competing with my state board friends. Everyone, including me, was so confident that I would crack the EAMCET exam with a very good rank. I secured a decent rank but what’s life without any twists and turns?!
Protests for the State bifurcation were going on since 2009 in Andhra Pradesh and these peaked in 2014. People became skeptical of any examination results would be released and if any seats would be allocated. With the rank I secured, I’ve applied for my engineering counseling, but I missed the civil engineering seat by just one rank. I was one rank away from my childhood dream! Generally, the State conducts three to four counseling processes for seat allocation. But due to the instability in the State, the then Government didn’t care to check what was happening with the admission procedures. Had second counseling been done, I would have been a Civil Engineer. But life got other plans for me. I had to settle with the Petrochemical Engineering seat. Not that I didn’t like the stream, I, even in my oddest of dreams never expected that I would study something other than Civil.
I soon realized that I have to make the best use of what I have with me instead of crying over spilled milk. I put in all my efforts to give the best and I was into extracurriculars, co-curricular activities, sports along with academics. I brought in the best achievements to the college at University, State and National levels and topped in whichever competitions I participated. I was awarded the prestigious Pratibha Award by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for my performance in academics. And the final result - The Best Outgoing Student
of the University.
All these were possible only because I overcame my challenges and turned them into opportunities. “Challenges are what make life interesting; Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful”.

SRITHI The article is really excellent to go through it and the way of expressing ,analyzing the various organizations of Birla group in step by step is really superb. Your personnel experiences with all organization as you grown up ie_ childhood days with MORE, in growing stage with PANTALOONS, college life with ALLEN SOLLY, and lastly with ULTRATECH while associating with your dad all are clearly and context wise mentioned is quite appreciable.Incidentally I am also IDEA customer only. Your dad hardworking and analytical mentality might have come to you genetically which I feel by seeing your article. The using of quotations in proper context is quite appropriate. The sayings of such a great people will certainly shape us in fixing our life targets Sruthi. You are writely absorbing them. Though you missed as Civil engineering profession, you came as Best outgoing student even in different discipline indicates your hardworking and sincearity. But writely you have come to management course that to in National level Institute will certainly turn your carrier. The last but not least word I am going to add is, I am foreseeing in our Sruthia a FUTURE CEO to an organization like Birla group or equivalent. All the best Sruthi.
