Holistic Learning At Indore – Ankit Verma, IIM Indore
I did my Engineering in 2014, so after a gap of 3 years, I got an opportunity to do my MBA at IIM Indore. The very first day I had a campus tour and can say that the infrastructure is really very good. The lush green campus makes you really comfortable. With a good mix of students i.e. PGP, IPM. Even if we talk about PGP students there is a good mix of fresher and student with work experience in different sectors. There is a lot to learn from your batchmate and seniors.
IIM Indore has some differentiating features in programme design which make the campus unique
Rural immersion Programme which gives the student exposure to go to villages and work on current issues and understand the social context of it.
Industry Interface Programme – Here first-year students get a good opportunity to do industry visits and do the live project with them. The college has got the tie-ups with several companies from different sectors. This helps the most to the student who joined Management studies without any prior work experience. They get to see the factory location and apply the classroom learnings in real time problems faced by organizations.
Himalaya Outbound Programme (HOP) – This is for PGP-2 students. IIM Indore offers this programme with the help of several agencies like India Hikes, Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, Rural Traveller. This happens around October month. It is a one week programme wherein students go trekking, water sports and other adventure sports. This in itself a different learning activity. Previous years student got an opportunity to visit Uttarakhand, Nainital.
One of the best parts of IIM Indore is the that every Saturday there is movie screening. Students and even Faculty members get to see every new released movie in new Auditorium. Institute has a large batch size wherein student from different cultures come together and celebrate every festival. There are several cultural and technical fest organised every year.
Students have the opportunity to join club and committees of various domains such as Operations, Finance, Marketing as per their area of interest wherein they organise various competitions and provide live projects opportunities for other students.
The campus has good all-around facilities which include the gymnasium with proper trainers available, swimming pool and many food stalls and student-run shop for daily items. All in all, it’s a great place wherein one can learn and have a great college life by engaging in various activities.
The company which I want to work for?
I would like to work for Idea Cellular Limited which is one of the top three mobile operators of India, with a revenue market share of 19 percent. Idea ranks sixth in global rankings of operators in subscriber terms, for single country operators.
Idea Cellular Ltd. has a good Awareness which refers to the knowledge of the competitive action (or attack) and due to this high Awareness and Capability, they tend to come with responses to counter-attack in the industry and remain among one of the top mobile operators of India.
