IIM Rohtak To Conduct CAP For Admission Into 9 New IIMs
IIM Rohtak will conduct the Common Admission Process (CAP) for admission into the new IIMs for the batch of 2017-19. Post announcement of CAT 2016 results, the shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis (WA) for admission into IIM Rohtak, Ranchi, Raipur, Trichy, Kashipur, Udaipur, Amritsar, Bodh Gaya and Sambalpur. The institute, which also conducted the first CAP, will share the results with the other IIMs post evaluation. Last year, the CAP was conducted by IIM Kashipur.
Each of the 9 IIMs follows different shortlisting criteria. For instance, this year IIM Rohtak, for its 8th batch of Post Graduate Programme, has decided to give more weightage to female and non-engineering background students while shortlisting students to ensure a healthy mix of candidates from diverse backgrounds. This criterion for each IIM is included in their admission policy which can be found on their websites.
Students shortlisted for some older IIMs might not have to appear for the CAP, as some of the older IIMs will share their PI & WAT scores with IIM Rohtak. Those candidates who have been called by more than 1 older IIM will have their scores averaged across the IIMs where they have been interviewed. Finally, the scores of PI & WAT Process will be shared with the other IIMs participating in CAP, who will then make their own merit lists according to the normalized scores.
Further details and exact dates of PI & WAT, along with the locations will be shared after the CAT results are out.
