IIM Shillong – Heart-throb Of North East
Shillong, the heart throb of the North East is the home to the Campus in Clouds, the abode of Beauty, and the witness to the final breaths of the great person to have walked the steps of the campus, Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Sir. Combining the respect with the heavenly beauty, Indian Institute of Management, Shillong is placed in Nyongthymmai, as a part of the summer palace of the Mayurbhanj Kings.
Many aspects make a campus unique in itself. Sometimes, the scenic beauty and sometimes, the features of the college. I believe students and the stories make a campus what it is. IIM Shillong is built from the uniqueness of its student portfolio. With a diverse student ratio, it brings the power of differential thoughts to the table. Moreover, the most striking aspect that comes out is the enthusiasm and the coordinated efforts of the students to live up to the name of the institute.
The number of competitions, Corporate and B-School alike, that have been won by the students provide the staggering accolades that brings out the significant part of this institute. With its roots deep in Sustainability, IIM Shillong has stood for the beliefs that it preaches. Lush Green Campus, with a plastic-free zone has defined the best part of the beauty of this abode!
Beauty is not defined by the institute alone, but by the culture that prevails within it. The culture of peer learning and especially the notion of “there is something to learn from everything” adds to the beauty of the campus. The intensifying clouds and the natural aspects surrounding the campus lead to the growth of an individual and the build of the uniqueness that we are so proud of.
With the combination of the above-mentioned aspects, our dearly revered Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has honored this campus with his beliefs and teachings which stand out as the most unique feature that we are lucky to be endowed with.

Aditya Birla Group is a varied business unit. With aspect to this scenario, I would like to go for the Madura Fashion Retail unit. The notion of sales and Marketing has intrigued me as I have gone trough my courses. Reaching out to the customer, gaining insights, and delivering the promises, yet maintaining the Brand identity is something that I admire as a profession. With a new impetus to the career, I would like to go into the House of Brands, Madura Fashion, that has licensed brands like Allen Solly, Van Heusen etc. and would like to learn to manage all such brands under a single umbrella, understanding the nitty gritties that would lead to my overall growth, both in learning and career.
