The next place we visited was the Mawphlang Dam. This place represented the economic aspect of sustainability. The Dam was an example of how modernization and development can coexist with the environment. Without growth, any society with fall behind. Thus, development is important for survival for any society. The Mawphlang Dam is a hydroelectric source of electricity production. The Dam provides electricity to many parts of Meghalaya. Apart from its economic use, it is also a place for tourists to visit.
The last stop to our excursion was the four-hour trek in the mountains of Lingyong. Before starting our trek, we sat beside a river and had our lunch. The lunch was amazing because of the weather and the place we were sitting. During the trek, we saw some of the most beautiful scenes that we have ever seen in our lives. The reason why everything was so beautiful was that it was untouched by mankind. There were no businesses, industries to spoil the entire area. It was a true testament to the fact when nature is left to itself it shows its true beauty. I realized that this was one of the most beautiful and peaceful places.
In the end, we had to return, and I was a little gloomy because I wanted to spend more time in the peaceful environment. It was one of the most peaceful days in my life.
