Away from the scorching heat of Indian mainland, even the campus is no less than a tourist destination. Beautifully covered with towering green trees, the campus buildings go in harmony with the setting to give a sensation of a holiday destination. The rains and mist in the air add to the charm of the place. As many have rightly quoted the places in and around Shillong reminded many of the rolling greens of the Scottish highlands – thus it is also known as “Scotland of the East”. On a full moon night, the campus shall remind you of your favourite childhood stories amongst the woods. With the moonlight shimmering through the leaves, into the lush green grass, the ambience is bound to awaken the poetic side of you.
Over and above the aesthetics, what really adds to the magic of the place is the people here. Students stick together as a close-knit family here, juniors and seniors alike where everybody knows everyone personally. The unique feature of the place is the ‘no-lock’ culture, which shows the trust and belief in the peers. The faculty are part of the family too. They remember the names of each student and are always willing to go an extra mile to help them, not just in academics but in anything that we seek. All in all, there is the reason why the place is called the #CampusInClouds
I would like to work in Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited because this is one of the most iconic divisions of the ABG group. It consists of some of the best-known brands in the retail garment segment. Madura Fashion & Lifestyle is home to the most renowned brands including the top four fashion brands of India - Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England. Besides Pantaloons, which is voted as ‘India’s Most Trusted Fashion Retailer’, retails over 200 brands to a loyal customer base of over ten million. I as a marketing enthusiast find this as the most interesting vertical to work in.
