As given by IIMT’s motto, knowledge really is endless at IIMT. Tiruchirappalli is an important educational centre in the state of Tamil Nadu and houses other
nationally recognised institutions such as Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and National Institute of Technology Trichy (NITT). Industrial units such as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Golden Rock Railway Workshop, Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli (OFT) and Heavy Alloy Penetrator Project (HAPP) also have their factories in the city. This level of industrial and educational presence in Tiruchirappalli has created a culture that values knowledge. This has definitely contributed to the success of IIMT.
The greatest asset that sets IIMT apart are its students. They are some of the best students the country has to offer in terms of ability, effort and attitude. The thorough selection process that the students has to go through ensures this remains the same. The virtues of Hard Work, Perseverance, Passion and Integrity that IIMT values so much, are reflected in the students of the institute. Amongst all the glamour and bustle of management studies and guest lectures, the “Make A
Difference” project, that every student has to undertake, ensures that the student and the institute does not lose its touch with the society. As part of this project, every student in the institute, as a team, takes up an issue of social relevance and works to make a significant and sustainable difference. This could include empowerment of women, cleanliness drives, teaching of underprivileged children or working with the differently abled. This ensures that every student of IIMT has the social awareness that will enable them to make this world a better place, wherever they end up.
This amalgam of high-quality teachers with the industrial, theoretical and practical knowledge, talented students, social awareness, and a whole lot of fun and heart makes IIMT a truly unique institute among all the other many B-schools in the country.
