MYRA School of Business is pleased to invite one and all to a Special Talk by Major General Muthanna on his perspectives of a manager’s roles and responsibilities.
Talk Summary
To the uninitiated, management and leadership practices in the Army may appear rigid, brutal and hierarchical. Not true. Military leadership and management have attested over the centuries that the civilian world of business has many management instructions to imbibe from the military. Leadership and good management is about taking risks, leading from the front and taking personal responsibility for both success and failure. Does this sound like business success? Can managers and organizations benefit from emulating military lessons?
Today, Major General Muthanna is here to talk on an Army Officer’s perspective of Managers –their roles and responsibilities. The enormity of the masses of men, material and resources that are engaged in some very famous battles will be discussed to focus on how much planning and preparation is required to be successful. The analogous relationship between the military and a managerial approach will be highlighted.
