My Journey To IIM Trichy – Sterbin Stephen
After I was done with my interviews and waiting for the results, I decided to do an Internship in Bangalore. It was a startup run by an Alumni of one of the old generation IIMs. I was nearing the end of my internship when my interview results started coming out. I was happy to go any of the new IIMs except IIM Trichy. This was because I had done all my education in South India and really wanted a new exposure.
When my results came I was happy that I had converted or was in a very high chance of getting into every 6 of the new IIMs. Then I began comparing each of the new IIMs. I compared figures like Reputation of the institute, Quality of the professors, infrastructure, placements and other parameters. I gathered information from around the net and consulted the IIM alumnus under whom I worked. From the analysis done, IIM Ranchi and IIM Trichy had turned out to be the top 2.
On comparing them closely, I realised that the culture and life of IIM Trichy would suit me better. Also the professors of IIM Trichy were known for their qualifications and ability. The director’s vision for the institute attracted me because of the emphasis given to the creation of practical knowledge to the students. An added advantage of Trichy was its location – it was surrounded on all three sides by 3 of the most happening metro cities: Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
The Infrastructure of IIM Trichy is without question one of the best of all the existing IIMs. The world class academic and administrative block, the spectacular Library and sports complexes, The list goes on. The lodging facilities of the staff, faculty and the students are well planned an organised. Unlike several other IIMs, IIM Trichy is well connected through means of Air and Rail. Trichy as a city is also a pleasant place to be at.
Considering the above factors I took a call to join IIM Trichy. It has been a week now, and with every day I spent here, my love for this institution is growing. I am confident that IIM Trichy is going to surpass my expectations.
Which ABG company would you like to work for and why?
The company that I would very much like to work for in the Aditya Birla group is Peter England. I have always had an attraction to the fashion industry and am really looking forward to work in one of India’s best clothing brand. Peter England has all that is needed to become an international brand. As my favoured field is marketing and sales, I would be privileged if could work for the Peter England Brand and using the my skills and capabilities I acquire from IIM Trichy, lead Peter England the continuous line of growth.
