How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
Due to some incorrect business decisions, my dad lost most of his business and we were left with little. It taught me the value of money and being financially independent at a very young age. Growing up with 3 sisters, our parents distributed gifts big and small equally amongst us. Now staying away from home, I cherish the gifts most when I share with my friends and colleagues. As class prefect in school, I was responsible for collating all submissions. This involved not only following up with students of my class but also be compassionate for individual situations and support my classmates where needed. It also meant a lot of negotiations with teachers. Being the youngest one in family four siblings, I was always protected by my sisters’ and parents. But when I had to step out of the comfort of my parent's house to pursue B.Sc. in Delhi University, it was not a cake walk, to say the least. The change in atmosphere took a toll on me and my parent's health conditions added to the stress. All this ultimately resulted in my falling behind in the first term of college. I have always been among the toppers in class and my entire family has a lot of expectations of me which I was not fulfilling. Hence, I decided to buckle up, took emotional support from hostel mates, guidance from siblings and was able to bring life back on track. While working at news aggregator Inshorts, there was a stint of 3 weeks where I was the only associate in my department as my colleague had a family emergency. I got the responsibility to single-handedly ensure that my team was on top of its game. I juggled with staying updated with top news, writing it, and ensuring it is error free before it was published. Making decisions alone, along with maintaining proper communication with my seniors helped me learn a great deal.
