The uniqueness of IIM Trichy stems from multiple factors, but most important of all is the opportunity provided to each and every student here in building the institute, contributing to its growth and the experiences it has to offer. Being a second-generation IIM, and one that has recently shifted to its permanent campus brings along with it the need for students to step up and be brand ambassadors of the institute to not just the corporate world but also to people who aspire to be in a similar position as ourselves. Co-ordinating and supporting the administration in setting up the infrastructure and facilities, ensuring that we set a strong base for the future batches to build upon are just some of the responsibilities that we carry. Through this, we not only learn to become better managers with actual hands-on experience, but we also carry with us the pride in contributing to the legacy of the institute.
Exposure to Social Causes:
Another aspect of IIM Trichy which makes it unique is the MAD projects. MAD, an acronym for Make A Difference is an initiative of the institute to give back to the society in its own way. This helps budding managers realise the value of human connection and understand the troubles in our society. We are assigned mentors and allotted dedicated time in the academic calendar so as to ensure that any project that we undertake is done so that it creates maximum impact.
The points mentioned above are just some of the few aspects of my journey so far at IIM Trichy. As it continues to the second year, my initial apprehensions about the IIM experience has been replaced with personal satisfaction and a growing confidence in my own self, something to cherish for a long time. Although I had a brief understanding of the benefits of an IIM experience from my colleagues and peers in the corporate world who had graduated from similar courses, personally experiencing and benefiting from it was an enriching experience in itself.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
The ABG group company that I would want to work for would be Idea Cellular Limited. With the fast-evolving landscape of mobile telephony in India, the journey of Idea Cellular to become the largest telecommunications company would be one that would face multiple challenges but at the same time would provide an enriching and rewarding experience. It would also give me the opportunity to utilize my skillset and apply my learnings over the 2 years at IIM Trichy.
