I am small, extra small to be precise. It has always been a challenge to shop for clothes that fit me fine. Everytime, me and my parents would go to a showroom to shop for me, we would ask for the size and not the colour or the style. We don’t have to do that in Forever21 or Allen Solly.
From shopping for my first branded frock at Pantaloons as a kid, to buying my first formals at Allen Solly, I grew up, and so did the ABG brand for me and my family.
ABG for me has not just been about catering to my size but also about catering to my demands and being there with me at each new beginning. In today’s world, where we as citizens are demanding equal rights for all, our brands need to catch up. You can easily find a saree in a thousand shades of blue in any Indian market, but trust me when I say this, you’ll seldom find more than 2 shades in women’s formal wear at any showroom in your size. However, that’s not the case at Van Heusen and this is why Van Huesen is the first place that comes to mind for everybody who has made it big and is aspiring to be big when they think of formals.
The countless little-little things that Aditya Birla Group does to cater to my specific needs is what makes ABG big in my life and it’s these countless little things that make me feel good.

How have I made an impact?
I come from a family which believes that there is no better place than home and even more so when it’s more than 45 degrees in the month of June. However, I was determined to step out of my home in the summer of 2017. I decided to help the underprivileged through the little things that I could do. I set out on a collection drive and collected clothes and goods from the residents of my society which they wanted to donate. Then, I went to the nearest shelters of homeless people and distributed the clothes amongst them. The satisfaction that I got was incomparable and I would do this every month over any other luxurious outing anyday.
Inspired by this initiative, the RWA of my society set up a “Daan ki Peti” outside the society where people donate regularly and anybody who is needy can collect as many items as they want. Along with this collection drive, I was also helping out children with basic mathematics and english free of cost. These days made me realise a lot of things. However, the one realisation that I’d never want to forget is that our small actions, if not make a big difference, can at least bring a big smile in someone else’s life.
