Jatin Gupta, the guy who ticks all the boxes of cliché Punjabi stereotype, is the essence of any party we have in our campus. Jack of all trades and a master of finance is good both in sports and academics. The best experience we have had together was when we were representing IIM Trichy at Sangram, an inter IIM sports tournament. The 3 days in IIM Khozikode was the first time I felt really proud of being in IIM Trichy and perhaps will be the most memorable memory in my MBA.
Shashank Paunikar, from Nagpur, is one of the most hardworking people I have met. Revered as an operations guru among our peers is one of the humblest lads in our batch. A full-time consultant for an operation consulting firm, I admire the way he manages studies and a full-time job. I have been fortunate to share my roll number closer to his, which made us work in the same group for multiple subject assignments. It’s the long nights working together on assignments, where I developed a huge respect for his work ethic and dedication. I will cherish the times we worked together in all our assignments.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Aditya Birla Retail limited, in the retail sector. Since I have an interest in operations and wish to major in it, I think it would be a perfect place to apply my learning and contribute to growth. The major challenge that remains in the supply chain is forecasting demand and managing inventory of products with low shelf life. Having previously worked in an e-commerce firm, I understand the importance of a well-oiled and functioning supply chain and logistics, as this is where we create the competitive edge to the firm by reducing cost and adding value. Given how the Indian retail sector is projected to grow in the coming years and how technology is going to deeply impact it, I think it would be a perfect opportunity to contribute, learn and grow.
