How I overcame the challenges?
The Ultimate Measure Of A Man Is Not Where He Stands In Moments Of Comfort And Convenience, But Where He Stands At Times Of Challenge And Controversy.
- Martin Luther King, Jr
I have faced many challenges. Some big, some small but none insurmountable. The biggest challenges I have faced is – the feeling of being discontent. 3 years ago, I wasn’t satisfied with anything in my life. I hated my grades, my weight, my surroundings. My self-esteem was falling by the day. I complained and cribbed a lot. It was the worst feeling I have ever had.
I finally decided to take control of my life and stop cribbing and complaining. I started studying harder, worked out designated specific time slots. I also meditated to have a calmer mind. Slowly and steadily, I started feeling content.
The road to feeling better was not smooth. It took almost a year to be back. But I guess it is really true when they say- Life is a journey, not a destination. I learnt a lot about myself during this period and I started to live a disciplined life and bounced back stronger.
There are a few things that I have learnt from this incident. One, Health should be amongst a top priority. Two, Each and every process takes time. Three, our loved ones always have our back. Four, Failures and setbacks are a part of life.
After all, as the great Helen Keller quoted-
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
