XAHR Feels Like Home

For a person like me, who has spent twenty-one years of my life in one place, moving out into a new city, that too in a residential campus, has been quite a big deal. I was finally going to take up the challenge, and the feeling, despite being bittersweet, made me look forward to it.

From what I had heard of life in a business school, I was expecting a very competitive environment where everyone would focus on themselves and nothing else, but the reality at XAHR Bhubaneswar was starkly and pleasantly different. My first interaction with the college was through the Media and PR Cell. They had created formal and informal channels of communication to facilitate our transition into the university. That’s where they answered all our queries and concerns and made sure that we did not have to stress about anything.

In no time, came the day of formal induction into the sprawling XUB campus which set the ground for what I could expect. The campus is situated at a distance from the concrete jungle that I have always resided in and made me feel a certain calm in the sea of the chaos that was inside me. Anything and everything ahead of that day at XAHR, has been nothing short of a dream. I take pride in saying that what’s really unique about my campus is its people. Everyone here, starting from the support staff and professors to my batchmates and seniors have been going out of the way to make everyone in general and me in particular blend in and feel comfortable with the surroundings.

All my fears and apprehensions seem redundant now. It is going to be an extremely volatile journey ahead, but I feel confident thanks to the support system that I have found here at XAHR, who make me feel like home, and who I can start calling family. This, in a nutshell, is what makes my campus absolutely unique to me.

 

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?

The ABG company that I would like to work for is Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. ABFRL is a company which boasts of hosting India’s largest fashion network and an umbrella of fashion brands like Louis Phillip, Planet Fashion, Hackett London, Forever 21, Pantaloons among others. They cater to various groups, ranging from children to professionals and have thus managed to build a very strong relationship with their customers. Moreover, the company is people-centric and has an open-door policy where individual team members are welcome to share their ideas and to be involved in the decision-making process. The company balances economic growth with environmental and social interests.

I would love to work in such an organization which values both its employees and believes in sustainability for a brighter future.
