(Edit : IIM A has clarified that all offers reported are actually acceptances. A clarification has also been made in the press release.)
50% of the batch was eligible for Lateral Placements. Number of PPOs is not available right now. Again, wait for the CRISIL audited report for the same.
We can only hope that the InsideIIM.com community is able to convince the folks at IIM A about the importance of sharing profiles offered by companies. While salaries are important, career decisions are also made based on a profile being offered. This fight has gone on for long. It is just that despite being one of the pioneers in trying to bring transparency to the cause of reporting placements, IIM A has missed an important piece of the story. Now, one view is that there are competitive reasons to not disclose profiles openly but the more likely reason could just be inertia. In any case an online portal cannot dictate the mighty IIM A's policy, can it?
Sector-wise classification based on Press Release
115 firms participated. 58 of those names have been mentioned in the report above. The fact that so few names have been disclosed is unfortunate but compared to last year it is still clear that this has been a better year overall. Tech & E-Commerce are emerging strongly even on campuses dominated by Consulting and Investment Banking is clearly visible. Going forward, it will be increasingly tougher for FMCG companies to compete for the best talent on elite campuses is our view.
Now, to wait for the CRISIL audited report in June/July to edit this piece again. Sigh.
