The students’ remarkable performance can be credited to efforts which go each day into the demanding schedule of the course. This feat couldn’t have been possible without the industry-academia relationship. We thank the corporates and all IIMT members.
This year 41 companies visited the campus for summer placements, offering roles across various sectors such as BFSI, Consultancy Services, FMCG, IT/ITES, Manufacturing, Media and Advertising, E-commerce, NGO among others. There were diverse roles offered in exciting profiles in Consulting, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance, HR, IT/ITES. Some niche roles catering to the students’ interests were offered in Public Policy, Strategy and Vendor Management.
A total of 91 offers were made to the first year students of IIM Tiruchirappalli. The highest stipend offered for the internship period is INR 1,40,000 and the average stipend is about INR 45,000. Twelve students have opted out of the summer internship process. They will be pursuing niche roles in areas such as Private Equity, Supply Chain Management, Process Optimization and Strategy Consulting.

BFSI: World Bank and ICICI Bank participated in the process. Muthoot Finance offered roles in finance, operations and strategy. NCDEX, Singhi Advisors and Marmore offered financial analyst and risk management roles. Phillip Capital recruited for positions in sales and marketing. Basket Option offered profiles with diverse responsibilities.
Consulting: Deloitte and Cognizant Business Consulting offered internships in business and management consulting. Frost & Sullivan offered consulting roles at their innovation and knowledge center. Metis, Last Mile Consultants and Explico Consulting Pvt Ltd offered roles in social media and finance.
FMCG: Dabur and Emami offered roles in sales and marketing. Cholayil offered HR profiles.
Media & Advertising: Draft FCB Ulka offered internships in advertising and Zee Media Corporation recruited for sales and marketing.
E-commerce: Shaadi.com, Savegenie E-Marketing Pvt Ltd, iTiffin, Zapak.com, ToolCasa and Mydeals24x7 offered diverse roles such as people management, digital marketing, vendor management, marketing research and general management.
Manufacturing: Mahindra GMC offered roles in marketing and strategy while Saint Gobain Glass, TAFE and Robert Bosch recruited students for sales and marketing profiles. L&T and Ram-Nath & Co. offered internships in HR and strategy, respectively.
IT/ITES: HCL, Dell, Ducen IT, Data Logics, Lapiz Digital and Integra Software Services Pvt. Ltd. offered IT consulting, finance, category management, sales management and marketing research roles, respectively.
NGO: Rakshak Foundation, a Non-Profit Organization which conducts research on public policy issues and creates awareness about them, offered students a unique opportunity to understand the intricacies of public policy.
Others: Novonous, Shirsa, Carbon Clean Solutions offered roles in market research, education consulting and energy consulting.

Sales and Marketing
Summer Placements this year saw various roles offered in Sales, Digital Marketing, Market Research, and Advertising. The offers came from diverse sectors ranging from IT and Media to Manufacturing and FMCG. Major FMCG recruiters were Dabur and Emami. HCL and Integra Software Services Pvt. Ltd. offered roles in sales management and marketing research. Mahindra, Saint Gobain Glass, TAFE, Robert Bosch offered roles in sales and marketing. E-commerce firms such as Shaadi.com, Savegenie E-Marketing Pvt Ltd, iTiffin, Zapak.com, ToolCasa and Mydeals24x7 offered roles in digital marketing & marketing research. Other major recruiters in marketing function included Draft FCB Ulka, Basket Option, Novonous, Phillip Capital and Shirsa. Zee Media Corporation offered roles in media and advertising. Last Mile Consultants offered a niche consulting role in social media.
Finance
World Bank participated in the process and offered roles in its Financial Instruments Department. ICICI Bank, Muthoot Finance Ltd, and Dell recruited students for roles in finance. Marmore, NCDEX, Singhi Advisors and Basket Option recruited interns for Equity/Industry Research and Risk Management roles.
Operations & Strategy
Strategy roles offered this year came from different sectors such as Manufacturing and Finance. Mahindra offered a strategy role as part of their prestigious GMC program. Muthoot Finance and Ram-Nath & Co. offered roles in Strategy. In addition Carbon Clean Solutions and MyDeals24x7 offered roles in SCM and Operations.
Consulting and General Management
The students received offers from firms such as Deloitte, Cognizant Business Consulting and Metis offered management consulting roles. Explico Consulting recruited students for financial consulting roles. Profiles offered included Category Manager, Business Development and Industry research.
Rakshak Foundation offered a unique opportunity for students to intern in the field of public policy
IT/ITES and Human Resources
Companies offering IT Roles included Ducen IT, HCL, Lapiz Digital & Data Logics. Roles in the HR function were offered by L&T, Cholayil and MyDeals24x7.
This year has been particularly exciting for summer placements. The diversity of profiles offered and the participation from various spheres of the industry was remarkable. The industry has continued to place its confidence in the students of IIM Tiruchirappalli who have attained excellence in the corporate sector. For four years now, IIM Tiruchirappalli has been providing talented and persevering individuals of high caliber for corporates and academia alike; many of whom have achieved senior positions in a very short time.
